Custom sportswear is becoming more popular than ever. It's a means to motivate a rider and unite a team, whatever level of the athletes. Looking and feeling great lends itself to performing great, meaning custom cycling clothing is an excellent option for those looking to invest more in their kit.
It can cost both time and effort to find high-performance sportswear that delivers on all your preferences, so it helps to know what to look out for when getting started. That way, you're guaranteed to come away with cycling jerseys that deliver on quality and suit your style.
When it comes to custom cycling jerseys, here's a buyer's guide that will help.
Cycling jersey qualities
To help you achieve your full potential in the saddle, a cycling jersey must deliver on certain qualities that allow you to do so. High-performance sportswear maximises on comfort, aerodynamics, and practicality so that you can go further and faster.
The materials
Choosing the right material for endurance sportswear is a complex process. It involves weighing up multiple decisions to land on a jersey material that is breathable, quick-wicking, odour-resistant, comfortable, and cost-effective.
Here at Presca, our materials deliver on all of the above. But we have an additional focus on sustainability too. Our cycling clothing not only supports an athlete through all the demands of a ride, but it also protects the planet.
Our Grand Tour jerseys are made from the finest, lightweight, recycled fabrics, offering the highest quality with the lowest impact on our environment.
The fit
Most cycling jerseys feature a longer back and shorter front so that your back is covered as you lean forwards towards the handles and there is no excess material that bunches up at the front.
Cycling wear must be tight around the body to be race fit. It's essential to maximise on aerodynamic benefits and support your torso in the seat.
The sleeve length
The sleeve length of your jersey will depend on the climate you typically ride in, with most teams have both long and short sleeve cuts. To accommodate you during between seasons, breathable side panels for sweat-wicking are helpful, which all jerseys in the Presca range provide.
Our short-sleeved jerseys also have raw-edge cuffs. This feature is often overlooked in cycling garments and ensures comfort and avoids constriction or irritation at the arm.
The features
Depending on your riding preferences, you might also opt for additional features in your cycling jersey such as types of pockets, hidden zips, and grip tape at the waist to avoid it riding up.
Every cyclist is different, so exploring these options is key to finding a solution that suits you best.
The look
When it comes to custom cycling gear, your garment's look is the reason for your investment.
Striking, bold, intelligent design that reflects the personality of your team is important. Working closely with designers is the way to getting a unique style that unites you.
